Day 5

49 Miles, 1,900'

Today was a designated easy day to rest from all the climbing yesterday, and prepare for the long ride tomorrow. Rather than take a short flat (boring) ride with the group along the same old roads, Bob put together a trip through the courntryside that was much nicer. Riding through farm country, smelling the orange blossoms on small roads and through a couple old towns worked out great.

We stopped in a town square for a break, and we knew we were off the beaten path since there were only a few other cyclists there. On our return, we were approaching a round-about over the freeway, and found the road closed and the cars/trucks lined up and stopped. Five minutes later, the next stage of the Majorca tour we saw yesterday came flying through, all 200 riders together this time.
