Okay, the superlatives might be getting old, but today's ride was spectacular. Headed out of Ronda, which is at 2,300' under cool and windy conditions. After some confusion getting out of town (still getting used to the GPS), had a nice descent into a river valley. Weather overall was hot sun with cool wind; finally had to use arm and knee warmers at times.
Did a lot of climbing today, going through some "White Villages" of Andalusia which were quite picturesque. Mostly on nice roads with not many cars. At one point, we went out a one lane road with virtually no traffic, climbing and dropping though a beautiful cork forest.
After a final climb, we dropped into Guacin, where we stay for two nights. Our hotel has a great view, all the way to Gibraltar, which was almost visible in the distant clouds.
The Cueva del Gato (you can see the cat, yes?). A bit further was the Cueva del Pileta which had cave drawings from 15,000 BC.
