This was supposed to be an easier final ride of the trip, but it ended up quite challenging. Very windy/gusty today, and cooler. We ended up doing a lot of climbing, some of it steep with extended 12-15% climbs. And, we finally found some bad roads; large sections of road with no asphalt, just dirt and gravel. Amazing that we had no flat tires. In fact, for the entire trip we all had no flats except one pinch-flat Lorilei got from riding over a grate.
The final road into town ended up very steep, and then turned into dirt for a long section - what a way to finish the trip.
Bikes are packed up, we're going to try for an early dinner, and we leave at 6 am for the long trip home. It will be nice to take a couple days off the bike.
