Day 1 Geneva to Le Pont

68 Miles, 7,740'

Arrived yesterday in Geneva via Amsterdam, luggage and bike intact. Though we were only 5 minutes from the airport, our hotel was in France, as was the first half of the ride. Starting out into the Jura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jura_mountains):

with a climb over the Col de la Faucille, a nice 3,000' warm-up climb for the trip. Looking back at Lake Geneva, with Mont Blanc in the background:

Beautiful ride overall today, weather was often cool around 60, sometimes warmer in the low 70's. The second major climb over the Col du Marchairuz was higher and seemed to go on for a long time, but then we dropped down to Lake de Joux, where we are staying tonight. Another random shot from today:

Took it easy overall; lots of climbing coming up in the next two weeks. Meanwhile, Rinaldi brought some Tequila over with him, so he and I are having a sip while I get this out. Oh yeah, here's the Strava data if you want to see where we are on the map or the elevation  profile:
