50 Miles, 5,000'
Today was a five pass day. A few of us decided to go training before we got on the bikes; specifically we took the train from Bergun to St. Moritz over the Albulapass skipping 3,000' of climbing, sorta matching the extra 3,000' we did yesterday. From St. Moritz we first climbed the Passo del Berninia, dropped down a little, then up the steep Forcala di Livigno:
At the top we exited Switzerland:
A longer decent this time, a short break in the town of Livigno, then a climb up the Passo d'Eira, a short drop, then the final climb of the day up the Passo de Foscagno. Our first small roadblock of the trip:
After the last pass we had a stellar desent that went on for a long time (http://app.strava.com/activities/18292677), and was notable for the lack of passing cars and motorcycles; overall still a lot of traffic. Roads not as nice in Italy, but good enough. And a lot of bike riders over all the passes today. One final photo - we saw many views like this today:
